ISC uses an American curriculum with an international perspective as the foundation of its educational program. In addition, the curriculum is enhanced by the inclusion of the Brazilian curriculum, including Portuguese, Brazilian History and Geography, and Brazilian Studies. The focus of the curriculum is to:
ü prepare students for the rigorous international baccalaureate program in grades 11 and 12,
ü prepare students for the Brazilian vestibular for those intending to enter university in Brazil,
ü prepare students for admission and academic success in colleges and universities in Brazil, the United States and throughout the world.
The delivery of the curriculum is in English with the exception of the Brazilian curriculum which is delivered in Portuguese. Students are provided with the opportunity to become academically fluent in both English and Portuguese. Students whose native language is neither English nor Portuguese are also provided the opportunity to continue the study of their native language.
ISC is in the process of creating online curriculum maps for its entire curriculum using Atlas Rubicon. For more in depth information about the curriculum, you may follow the link below. Please keep in mind that this is a work in progress and not all curriculum maps are yet available. The timeline for completion of the curriculum mapping is scheduled to take place over the next two years.
