On November 4, 2009, officials gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Early Childhood Center. The contract to build the Early Childhood Center has been awarded to Doria Construction for R$5.7 million. Construction is now underway and the new facility is expected to be ready for the opening of the school in August 2010. Once completed, the approximately 3,200 m² facility will bring all of ISC’s students together on one campus and provide state-of-art facilities for ISC’s youngest students.

The new ECC will provide: 

• Eight 58.5 m² classrooms, each with its own 35 m² covered patio
• Physical education/psychomotor/ballet room (58.5 m²)
• Playroom (58.5 m²)
• Library (58.5 m²)
• Multipurpose classroom (58.5 m²)
• Multipurpose music room (149 m²)
• Art/Science room (73 m²)
• Cafeteria for students (130 m²)
• Teacher lunchroom
• Kitchen
• Outdoor covered recreational space (290 m²)
• Administrative space
